Self-reply chains

Repeat the Post body value to publish a Threads self-reply chain. Media can attach to each body item, and any body item can contain media without text. OpenPMM checks both the Threads post quota and the reply quota before publication. Existing connections must reconnect once to grant the threads_manage_replies permission. If publication stops part-way, a retry resumes at the first missing reply.

Media per post

A Threads post accepts up to 20 assets.

Video limits

Threads recommends a 9:16 vertical video. OpenPMM gives advice for a different aspect ratio, but it does not block the post.

Image limits

OpenPMM converts a WebP or a GIF image, and makes the file smaller when it is above 8 MB. See Media compatibility.

Limits that OpenPMM cannot check

Threads documents a closed group of pictures (GOP). OpenPMM cannot read this property from the file. Make sure that your encoder writes a closed GOP.
