# TikTok media guidelines

> See the video limits that OpenPMM applies to TikTok Destinations and uploads.

TikTok accepts one video for each post. Your creator account adds its own duration limit. Read [Media guidelines](/docs/media/overview) for the general rules.

## Media per post

A TikTok post needs exactly one video. It does not accept an image.

## Video limits

| Video codec | H.264, HEVC, VP8, or VP9                                       |
| Duration    | 10 minutes maximum                                             |
| Frame rate  | 23 to 60 fps                                                   |
| Width       | 360 to 4,096 px                                                |
| Height      | 360 to 4,096 px                                                |
| File size   | 500 MiB. TikTok permits 4 GiB, but the OpenPMM limit is lower. |

## Creator account limit

TikTok gives a maximum video duration for each creator account. This value can be lower than 10 minutes. OpenPMM reads the value from TikTok before publication and applies it.

If TikTok does not give the value, OpenPMM keeps the other checks and reports the missing value in the response. TikTok can then still refuse a video that is too long for the account.

## Video cover

`videoCoverTimestampMs` selects the cover frame. The value must be 0 or more, and it must not be more than the duration of the video.
