# Inbox

> Read comments on your posts and reply to them with the OpenPMM CLI.

The inbox commands use only the public `/v1` API.
Read commands require `inbox:read`.
Reply, resolve, and refresh commands require `inbox:write`.
See [Reply to comments](https://www.openpmm.com/docs/guides/reply-to-comments.md) for the channel coverage.

## Check each channel

```bash theme={null}
openpmm inbox summary --workspace ws_01JABCDEF --json
```

The response gives the unanswered count and the `capability` of each Destination.
Reply only on a Destination with the `available` capability.

## List the open queue

```bash theme={null}
openpmm inbox list \
  --state unanswered \
  --workspace ws_01JABCDEF \
  --json
```

Use `--channel`, `--destination`, `--thread`, `--since`, and `--until` to filter the list.
Use `--sort unanswered_first`, `--sort newest`, or `--sort oldest`.

List the posts that have comments:

```bash theme={null}
openpmm inbox threads list --workspace ws_01JABCDEF --json
openpmm inbox threads show thr_01JABCDEF --workspace ws_01JABCDEF --json
```

## Send a reply

> [!WARNING]
>
> A reply is public. You cannot undo a reply. The command requires `--yes`.

```bash theme={null}
openpmm inbox reply cmt_01JABCDEF \
  --body "@andy_intl Thanks. It ships next week." \
  --workspace ws_01JABCDEF \
  --yes \
  --json
```

The command returns when the reply is queued.
Read the comment to follow the reply state:

```bash theme={null}
openpmm inbox show cmt_01JABCDEF --workspace ws_01JABCDEF --json
```

The CLI creates an idempotency key when you omit `--idempotency-key`.
Use the same key when you retry an uncertain request.

## Resolve comments

```bash theme={null}
openpmm inbox resolve cmt_01JABCDEF --workspace ws_01JABCDEF
openpmm inbox reopen cmt_01JABCDEF --workspace ws_01JABCDEF
openpmm inbox threads resolve thr_01JABCDEF --workspace ws_01JABCDEF
```

`inbox reopen` opens a resolved comment again.
`inbox threads resolve` resolves every unanswered comment in the thread.

## Check for new comments now

```bash theme={null}
openpmm inbox refresh --workspace ws_01JABCDEF --json
openpmm inbox refresh --destination dest_01JABCDEF --workspace ws_01JABCDEF --json
```

Each Destination accepts one check every 2 minutes.
A Destination that you checked recently returns `cooldown`.
